Embedded System Engineer III
Department Name: Engineering
Job Summary:
The Embedded System Engineer will develop and refine interconnect and hardware/firmware interfaces to its MPOI (massively parallel optical interconnect) architecture. This position reports to the lead embedded system engineer in the embedded systems group that will interface with staff scientists and network system engineers to develop PHY-layer and Layer 2/3 FPGA applications in support of OptiComp’s next-generation photonics and optical switching technology. The candidate should have a working knowledge of embedded MCU system design and programming, high speed CMOS optoelectronic transceiver design, physical layer (PHY) protocol and interface issues. Candidate will focus on applying the MPOI network to avionic as well as space-deployed
Job Responsibilities:
- Embedded MCU hardware and software design.
- Embedded C programming.
- FPGA board and system level design, development, and testing, board bring-up.
- Verilog FPGA RTL coding.
- Generate software development specifications and the development of embedded application software to meet the system requirements.
- This position requires a high level of ability to work independently while contributing to functional specs and participating in the entire development life cycle, including developing and executing test plans, and contributing to documentation to meet customer requirements.
