Job Title:

Junior Backend Engineer

OptiComp Corporation is currently seeking an innovative, motivated, goal- oriented Junior Backend Engineer who will perform backend processing required for the development and production of semiconductor optoelectronic devices. These processes include, but are not limited to, metal electroplating, wafer lapping and polishing, wafer dicing, and flip chip bonding. The devices will be made in compliance with national and international standards for space applications.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Work cross-functionally with engineering, R&D, and manufacturing groups to meet cost, quality, and delivery goals
  • Work in a cleanroom environment
  • Inventory of materials needed
  • Capable of working with chemicals in a safe manner
  • Measure and record data on the equipment logs
  • Follow semiconductor cleanroom protocol for cleanliness, safety and general operations
  • Report directly to: Lead Backend Engineer

Job Requirements:

  • B.S in Engineering, Physics, or Chemistry
  • Must have an active hands-on approach to technology development
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision
  • Organized, highly motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented
  • Work well in a team oriented environment
  • Fundamental materials and electronics background needed
  • Capable of reading and understanding technical procedures and specifications
  • Basic Microsoft Office 2007 skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and write technical procedures and training materials
  • Physical health must be sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position
