Module Engineer III

Job Summary:
The Module Engineer III will focus on designing, implementing and validating optical sub-assembly and modules.
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing , implementing and validating optical sub-assembly and modules
- Assist in developing the assembly process for modules and sub-assembly
- Assist in developing product requirements and specifications in coordination with Principle Investigators to meet customer requirements
- Assist in assembly of module and sub-assembly prototypes
- Assist in developing automated or semi-automated alignment process and stations
- Assist in failure analysis efforts with the FA team
Experience and Technical Skills Required:
- An active hands-on approach is critical to this position
- Possess good oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision
- Highly motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and dedicated
- Work well in a team oriented environment
- 4-5 years of experience in the development of optoelectronic transceiver modules. Specifically, experience in optical testing/troubleshooting, module assembly, mechanical design, and RF testing/troubleshooting
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures
- Knowledge of semiconductor optoelectronic devices, modules, and/or their components
- Demonstrated ability to read, understand and write technical procedures, specification, and training materials preferred
Education, License, Certification Required:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Ability to obtain DoD security clearance

Physical health must be sufficient to meet the ergonomic standards and demands of the position.

Reports directly to the Module Development Lead
