Test Engineer II

Job Summary:
The test engineer will focus on device, components, sub-assembly, and assembly testing. These efforts will lead to the achievement of customer testing requirements and compliance with national and international standards for space applications.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work cross-functionally with manufacturing, engineering, and R&D to meet cost, quality, and delivery goals
- Assist in authoring testing procedures for the purpose of meeting military or commercial regulatory requirements
- Assist in defining, developing, and implementing new tests. This includes custom software development for instrumentation control, data handling, and data processing
- Continuously evaluate operating methods for opportunities to improve testing capabilities and processes.
- Perform test procedures as assigned for devices, components, and assemblies/modules
- Analyze test data and provide regular progress reports
- Assist in developing and implementing tests and testing procedures for reliability programs
- Assist in failure analysis efforts with the FA team
Experience and Technical Skills Required:
- An active hands-on approach is critical to this position
- Possess good oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision
- Highly motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and dedicated
- Work well in a team oriented environment
- Will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Will works under general supervision
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
- 2-5 years of experience in testing of optical, optoelectronic, and/or electronic devices and components
- Proficient in Matlab
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures
- Knowledge of semiconductor optoelectronic devices. Specifically SOA a plus
- Demonstrated ability to read, understand and write technical procedures, specification, and training materials preferred
Education, License, Certification Required:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Ability to obtain DoD security clearance

Reports directly to Test, Reliability, and Failure Analysis Lead
