Job Summary:

The VCSEL Process Integration Engineer IV will focus on the development and implementation of product specific processing, metrology, and quality monitoring for manufacturing. An emphasis will be on the achievement of customer requirements and compliance with national and international standards for space applications. Integral part of the product development process and efforts supporting product qualification.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work cross-functionally with engineering, R&D, and test to meet cost, quality and delivery goals Author manufacturing procedures and specifications, including process verification and validation activities, for the purpose of meeting military or commercial regulatory requirements
• Design and implement lean manufacturing and statistical process controls including process capability and control charts
• Identify, design, and execute validation plans for the purpose of implementing new processes and process improvements
• Use lean / six sigma tools to improve manufacturing processes, drive cycle time reduction and automation where applicable
• Develop and conduct training and process planning procedures, select controls and process metrology, and continuously evaluate operating methods
• Coordinate with Device Engineering to develop functional specs and lead the entire product life cycle, including developing and implementing process improvements, and creating documentation to meet customer requirements
• Coordinate failure analysis efforts with the FA team

Experience and Technical Skills Required:

• An active hands-on approach to technology development is critical to this position, particularly related to optoelectronic devices
• Possess good oral and written communication skills, good organizational skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision
• Highly motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and dedicated Work well in a team oriented environment
• 7+ years of experience in product or manufacturing development in a hi-tech environment
• Knowledge of VCSEL and PIN semiconductor optoelectronic devices
• Experience in optoelectronic or microelectronic device fabrication and characterization Have demonstrated ability to read, understand and write technical procedures, specification, and training materials.

Education, License, Certification Required:

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Ability to obtain DoD security clearance
