Device Testing Engineer Manager

OptiComp is seeking an innovative, motivated, goal-oriented manager of the device test lab to join a team of engineers in the development and production of novel integrated optoelectronics devices for ultra-wide bandwidth data networking and optical interconnect applications. Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, semiconductor lasers, photodetectors, modulators, optical amplifiers, microresonator and waveguide devices, with particular emphasis on WDM-related component technologies. This individual will be involved in various aspects of device testing –including electrical, optical and thermal – and will collaborate with other device design, processing, epitaxial growth and packaging engineers in an interactive team environment. The individual should have a deep understanding of device physics and must be able to analyze and diagnose test results and provide timely feedback to other engineers. The person filling this position must be hands-on, analytical, well organized and able to guide the test department and mentor test engineers.

Requirements:
  • Ph. D. or MS in Electrical Engineering, Material Science, or a related field
  • At least 5 years industrial experience, with a proven track record in device testing
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of semiconductor optoelectronic devices
  • Broad range of hands-on experimental testing skills
  • Ability to program and manage a test department
  • Experience scheduling throughput and meeting deadlines
  • Experience guiding and mentoring engineers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • US Citizenship required
