Dr. Duane Louderback

Dr. Louderback joined OptiComp in 2000 as a Member of the Technical Staff and has since held positions of Senior Member of the Technical Staff and Staff Scientist. In 2008, he became Chief Technology Officer and is currently Acting Director of Engineering. In 1989 he earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Physics from Colorado State University and in 1995 and 2002 a M.S. and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Dr. Louderback has 15 years of experience in optoelectronics including VCSELs, photodetectors, waveguide coupled devices, WDM, microlenses, and flip-chip bonding. His work has spanned device design, epitaxial growth, device fabrication, characterization, packaging, and environmental testing. He has been Principle or Co-Principle Investigator on several development contracts and has several patents/patents pending, over 50 publications, and has presented several invited talks. He is currently on the VCSEL program committee for Photonics West and is a member of IEEE/LEOS, OSA, and SPIE.
