Software Engineer - C#

Defintion:
OptiComp Corporation is seeking a software engineer to help architect, engineer, and develop and refine the company’s Production Control Management (PCM) system. The PCM is an n-tier, .NET 3.5 application used to manage and track the manufacturing process.

Work Examples:
Meets with stakeholders to define the system requirements. Works with other software engineers to design the software architecture for the PCM system. Develops prototype applications to aid in defining stakeholder requirements. Works with a team to develop and test production software. Participates in code reviews. Helps to define and then follows standard coding, software architecture, testing, and version control practices.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 3+ years object oriented programming experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft .NET 3.5, C#, and Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.
  • Ability to develop 2-tier/n-tier distributed systems.
  • Working knowledge of MS SQL; hands-on SQL programming. DBA experience a plus.
  • Ability to design and develop intuitive, user-centered interfaces. Experience with WPF a plus.
  • Experience with unit testing and/or quality assurance.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint is a plus.


Qualifications:
  • Ability to read, understand, and write technical procedures and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to read, understand and write technical procedures and specifications.
  • Must possess good verbal and written communications skills, good organizational skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
  • US Citizenship required - Applicant may be receiving security clearances
  • References required
